DESCRIPTION: The galls of this species are seen on the underside of the host plant's leaf and are arranged along the midrib arising from the vein axil. The erineum starts white before becoming reddish-brown with age. The hairs have obtuse tips. The bulge on the upperside of the leaf is shiny and hairless. DISTRIBUTION: Widespread but due to under-recording a full profile of this species is difficult to ascertain. HABITAT: On the leaves of various Birch (Betula) species.
